Content & Book Development for Reference Publishers

Rock Hill Has been a "packager"of reference and nonfiction content for major publishers since 1980. We have been involved with database publishing since the early 1990s, creating annotated bibliographies, CDRoms, online databases, and print products for major publishers, including R.R. Bowker, Reed Elsevier, Cahners, and Thomson Gale. Our focus is the creation of high-quality content from concept and edited manuscript to design and camera-ready disk.

Rock Hill is also the creator and original publisher of WEB FEET™ Guides, which are electronic collections of librarian-reviewed and selected Web sites for schools and libraries. WEB FEET is now owned and marketed by Thomson Gale, and Rock Hill continues to package that content.

Rock Hill produces innovative special edition books for museums and scholarly institutions, for which we have won numerous awards. In addition to complete editorial, design, and production services, our team includes project managers and developmental editors from the museum and academic publishing field, which allows us to work particularly well with academic authors.

Rock Hill offers a complete range of development services, including project management, editorial, illustration, design, production, photo and art research, and database development. We can partner with publishers to provide highly marketable properties for reasonable acquision costs.

Independent Publishing

Rock Hill Press, the publishing imprint of Rock Hill Works, is developing new products focused on dogs, birds, fishing, and country living. Products in development include archival-quality art prints, dog training materials (print and online), and fine special edition and commemorative books. Our first new products are targeted for Spring 2007 release.
